The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

I am going to start this blog with the most dissapointing book I read last year. A friend of mine gave it to me thinking it might be something I would like. Though, if she had actually read it herself, she would have known better. I do not enjoy reading about violence against women. I understand that it can add to a story and will not judge a book harshly just because of some questionable content but this book really took it too far. Other than that, the book DRAGGED along and the characters were not likable. Apparently ole Stieg wrote this book as the first in a series and it has been praised all over America and Europe. People seem to like it. I, did not. While checking my information on wikipedia, I learned that they recently made a movie of the book. It had a limited release and according to Yahoo Movies it has an A- user rating. Maybe it was just me and this book was not my cup of tea. Has anyone else read it? Did ANYONE like it?

  1. Hi, Becca, yes i have read the book and the series. Ill agree at first i could not get into it but once I got past the first few chapters, i loved it. I know i do not like reading violent books also but in this case i liked how Lisbeth got her revenge on basically everyone who had done her wrong in one clean swoop at the end of the series. All in all, personally, I thought it was worth the read.
